U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT 2017-18 RECOGNIZES THE QUEEN’S MEDICAL CENTER AS A BEST HOSPITAL IN HONOLULU

HONOLULU - The U.S. News & World Report 2017-18 Best Hospitals have been released today and The Queen’s Medical Center is recognized as a Best Hospital in Honolulu.

“These are great results,” said Leslie B. Chun M.D., Chief Medical Officer & Chief Quality Officer, The Queen’s Medical Center. “Out of over 4,500 hospitals across the country, U.S. News & World Report looked for the top 50 in 16 specialties. I’m very proud that, thanks to our physicians, nurses and staff, we were ranked in the top 50 in 5 specialties nationally and were rated in the top 10% of hospitals in 4 other specialties. We are the only hospital in Hawaii to be nationally ranked in any specialty and one of 152 hospitals in nation ranked in one or more specialty.”

U.S. News ranked The Queen’s Medical Center in the top 50 hospitals in:

  • Diabetes and Endocrinology #39
  • Ear, Nose & Throat #30
  • Gynecology #23
  • Nephrology #43
  • Urology #25

And as high performing, or the top 10% of hospitals, in the following specialties:

  • Gastroenterology & GI Surgery
  • Geriatrics
  • Pulmonology


The U.S. News Best Hospitals analysis covers clinical specialties, procedures and medical conditions. Scores are based on data that include survival, patient safety, nurse staffing and other factors.
